I’ve seen this before, and it’s a great advice. Is it actually Mark Twain though? I can’t seem to find where it’s from. BTW, if you’re ever in Hartford, CT, visit his house. It’s really great. 🙂
I’d love to someday. Strangely even though I have traveled a great deal I never made it to the US. Yes it’s definitely Mark Twain – I’ve looked it up again and sent the words through a number of search engines and that’s what comes up.
Umm – how about all of them. It’s a habit of mine if I like a book I go find all the others written by the author. There may be one or two that slipped past me but I doubt it.
True – I love reading so much, it has been the bedrock of my life since before I was at school and unlike other things my love for it has never diminished. That combined with the joy I find in writing has been a source of great happiness in my life even in the darkest moments.

Thank you so much for your kind words, I get a great deal of pleasure working with this blog and it is so encouraging to hear that another person finds what I do of interest.
Thoughtful. Thank You Jenni.

Nice answer! Have only read the two most famous ones myself, but he has come up in a biography of Ambrose Bierce I read recently.

I can send you a list if you want – but you can probably get it from the web anyway. His Puddin Head one is good.

I’ve put a few short stories up on my site, but I’m not sure I have put any Twain up 😦 You’ve inspired to put some of him up 🙂

Excellent choice, Poe does some great short stories too although a somewhat different genre.

I’ve referenced him a few times on my site. Have always loved his work. Poe’s quotes were astonishing too.

Love Twain. He wasn’t afraid to say exactly what he thought. Great post.
