Weekend Funny Challenge

OK – I will admit to carting my soap box around with me from time to time but if you’ve read some of my posts in the Enjoy a Rant section you’ll understand why and that while I try to lighten the load where I can there are some situations that even humor cannot leaven.  Because of this I’ve decided that weekends will be devoted to the fun.

I’d like you to think of one story, joke or picture that has stayed with you and never fails to give you a laugh – even if no one else gets the funny, maybe especially if no one else gets the reason you dissolve into a small quivering ball of giggles and snorts.

From Friday Midnight until Sunday Midnight EST Unload and Unwind will host a variety of humorous posts that are anything from a funny story, a classic cartoon or saying even a stand-up clip.

Showcase just what makes you laugh and share with all of us the humor that makes you YOU! All you have to do is respond to at least one of the posts and when you are ready to load you own post don’t forget to include the URL of this the original Weekend Funny Challenge.

    • If your have time I would love it if you shared a story or joke of something that makes you laugh – just include the link back to the Weekend Funny page or post. I’m trying to make this a regular thing with more than just my work – you can post on your sight and it will pingback and it’s a great way for everyone to see new sites etc.

  5. Wow! Think of something funny? True stories are the funniest I think. I did ‘blog’ one such true story a while back that has always made me laugh. It is all about my youngest son and every words is true so below a link. True it was a close call with the time when I took delivery of my mother’s ashes in a black bin liner; put them in the shed then promptly forgot about them until a year later when Dad’s ashes arrived thus reminding me the poor old dear in a heap next to a lawn mower yet I think this one wins out;

    • I’m so sorry you’re feeling less than fun but don’t worry it’s going to take time I think to get more people participating but time is something there is always plenty of if your patient. We had some fun entries this weekend and I think once it gets more established there should be like a little badge of trophy icon to who gets the most likes over the week. Enjoy the funnies and other posts and I look forward to hearing from you again. Jenni 🙂 Take care and be well.

  11. A man goes to the psychiatrist.
    The psychiatrist says: “What do you do for a living?”
    “I’m an auto mechanic,” replies the man.
    “Get under the couch,” says the psychiatrist.

    • Now who doesn’t like Monty Python – ‘He’s not the messiah he’s just a very naughty boy’ would have to be one for my favourite lines second only to ‘but monsieur it’s only wafer thin’. Glad you came for a visit and I look forward to reading your work. Jenni

  23. Love this idea. My problem is I get into the joke and then never can remember the punch line. LOL. I cam on to thank you for visiting my brand new blog (newbie here) and following me. I really appreciate it and need the support. 🙂 I will be following you, too. Isn’t the internet wonderful (in some ways)… a world a part and yet so close.

  31. This is such a great idea. I really think humour is so important, especially when life gets tough. Never attempted a ping back before, but hopefully the one I just tried, worked! Wishing you a happy (and humorous) weekend from rainy UK!
